Original C12 microphones upgraded to the best sounding 1959 original schematic with rare, highest grade audiophile electronic components and wiring that money can buy.

All the upgrades were consulted with renowned specialists in this field.

The set includes:

1. One original AKG C12 microphone in its case.
2. Custom-manufactured, regulated dual power supply with a toroidal transformer. Original 9 polar settings on Greyhill gold plated rotary switches and all high grade components. Single unit is capable of driving two C12 microphones. 115V/230V switchable.
3. Installed 10 meters (33') microphone cable, German made after Austrian patent, with beefed-up high voltage power supply wires, and double Reussen layer for RF-rejection.
4. Original swivel mount.
5. Spare original General Electric 6072A vacuum tube (selected by measuring and listening tests).
6. The set of all original AKG parts (including transformer) currently replaced with audiophile components.
7. Original, 20m (66'), internally cotton-insulated microphone cable.
8. Copy of the original 1959 schematic and brochure.

Original AKG power supply with polar pattern switcher and original mic cable can be substituted for the custom-built one.

Description of parts upgrade:

• The best available components (Vishay resistors, MIT MuliCaps, etc.), all selected by extensive listening evaluations.
• All internal wiring is pure silver in Teflon insulation
• Super pure, extra flexible, famous Van den Hul cable to connect diaphragm with the vacuum tube socket
• Silver plated contacts vacuum tube socket mounted upside down, 3" closer to microphone diaphragm which lowers the noise and increases resolution. This is after AKG made C12 version for Telefunken which is ELAM 251 (currently $20,000 item)
• Original 6072A tube, carefully selected for the best performance
• Custom-made Jensen state-of-the-art output transformer (turn ratio identical to the original)
• Re soldered with 4% silver solder

Subjective evaluations of all the components performed by Andrew Lipinski, a tonmeister with over 20 years of experience. His listening ability was acknowledged as the one and only individual who out-shined many reputable recording engineers by scoring a perfect 100% on subjective evaluations of DAT anti copy code at the National Bureau of Standards, USA.
